چکیده
Abstract Background Gemistocytes (GCs) are unique phenotype of reactive astrocytes. In diffuse low-grade gliomas, they associated with grim prognosis. Less is known regarding their pathogenesis and prognostic significance in glioblastoma (GBM). Previous data on-neoplastic central nervous system (CNS) lesions has linked the presence GCs states uncontrolled hyperglycaemia diabetes mellitus type 2 patients. study purpose to find a correlation between systemic metabolic features patients GBM.Also, try correlate GCs, molecular changes, use anti-diabetic drugs on overall survival GBM Methods Electronic medical records from newly diagnosed were retrospectively reviewed extracted for demographic, clinical, metabolic, radiological pathological variables emphasis different - related features. A statistic-based comparison was made without same variables. We compared DM2 GC-GBM non-GC cohort poorly controlled (i.e., HBA1C ≥ 8.0). possible influence metformin administration OS patients, TP53 mutations investigated. Results total 220 included study. 14.5% defined as (group 1, n=32) 85.5% 2, n=188). The incidence 25% both groups. rate poorly-controlled nearly twice group 1 than (18.75% vs. 9.5%; p=0.130). group, significant differences found 1a, n=9) 2a, n=49) male gender predominance (89% 50%, p=0.073) obesity. Patients 1a more likely have weight ≥85kg (OR 6.16; 95% CI 1.3336 28.5147, p=0.0019) had higher BMI values (mean 34.1±11.42 28.7±5.44 2a respectively; OR= 1.095, 95%CI 1.053-1.207;p=0.034). Similar findings subgroup. None using insulin prior diagnosis (0% 61.10%, p=0.016). Survival analyses shown trends subgroups p53 metformin. Conclusion factors that marked resistance not at time significantly initial pathology. This novel finding may add glucose metabolism astrocytes astrocytes-associated tumors. changes tumor, under such metformin, affect prognosis subgroups.

Effect of Rhus Coriaria L on Glycemic Control and Insulin Resistance in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Objective: There are association between oxidative stress and incidence of some chronic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Food containing antioxidant compounds, such as some spices, are the natural ways to deal with oxidative stress. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of sumac powder (Rhus coriaria L) on the glycemic profile in patients with T2DM. Materials ...

Background: Many patients with type 2 diabetes are uncontrolled on maximum oral treatment. The early introduction of insulin can lower diabetes-related complications. This study aimed to evaluate type 2 diabetes patients’ demographic characteristics, clinical factors, and attitude toward insulin therapy initiation. Methods: In the present cross-sectional study, 457 patients were selected from 1...
